Air Quality

Unlike many beach or tropical rentals, the air quality in this condo is excellent. You will not walk in and smell a "musky" smell.  Amelia is incredibly sensitive to molds and dusts so common at beach rentals, so you will find that we have to great lengths to ensure a very clean HVAC system and a well-cleaned condo. Should you even wish for additional filtration, there are two air purifiers in the home and a dehumidifier which can be run in the summer, if preferred.

What's special?

The primary bedroom has a door to the back porch and a window with ocean view. Open the window slightly to hear the sound of the ocean waves at night.  Wake up and walk right to the outside porch to see if any dolphins are swimming.   Please enjoy our Pottery  Barn linens. 

What's special?

The guest bedroom is actually Amelia's favorite.  She sleeps in here because she loves sleeping under the Creation story paintings of Turtle Island.  Please enjoy our Pottery Barn linens and authentic Turkish rug. All of the shells in the lamp were hand picked by Amelia's grandmother on Captiva Island, FL.  One year, fishing in the Bahamas, Amelia's father dove to get the conch shell in the bathroom and gave it to her as a gift.

What's special?

Oak Island is a East-to-West beach which means that when you look at the ocean, the sun rises on your left and sets on your right.  You can catch some of the most gorgeous sunrises AND sunsets on this beach.  Amelia remembers one October she woke up and walked towards the light house (east) before sunrise. Met with the most marvelous sunrises, she took a few pictures and began thinking of her sister.  When returning to the condo, she learned her sister had given birth to her son (Amelia's nephew, George). Every year, she sends a picture of that sunrise to George on his birthday reminding him how beautiful the day was when he was born!

The sun sets over the pier less than a mile away in brilliant color and natural splendor!

What's special?

One of the cutest committee's in our HOA is our beautification committee.  As you walk through the parking lots or visit the picnic and grilling area, you'll notice jasmine growing and flowers blooming.  These ladies don't mess around! The association always looks - beautiful!
